Siew Gin's Parents came to Somerset

Seng and Lian came to visit us for a few days, so after a phone call we were off to the station to meet them at Castle Carey. It was great to see them again.

Leaving the station.

After driving them home round country lanes we arrived at Yeovil. Then we quickly had some lunch some time to see the house and garden and we were off to Lyme Regis so much for them to see and so few days.

It was very windy down on the cob at Lyme Regis but at least the rain held off and as it was a bank holiday there were a lot of people about.

Picture taken at the bottom end of the town.

Of course we did all the usual things and had ice cream.

Jake at the Beach Side

The first fine sunny day of Jakes stay we headed off to Charmouth for a day at the sea side but he insisted we were going to the beach side.

He could not wait to start building sandcastles and as the tide was on the way in we set about it straight away. Jake instucting Grandad how to make the moat.

Then of course we needed more water and we had to make many trips to get just the right sea water.

Returning with even more water by now Jake decided he needed the bigger bucket.

We had a lovely time on the beach but eventually the tide came in and washed our castle away so we went up the beach and he found some sand.

The last little bit of sand among the rocks but he still managed to build more castles.

Later we went to the otherside of the beach where there was still some sand and he bought a boat. He had such a lot of fun with the boat and someone elses castle.

Jake and his boat.

He spent a long time going round and round with his boat until the sea came in and we had to leave. We had a great time in the field after that and he even managed to stay awake all the way home.

Well it is August

Well it looks like August is going to be rain instead of sun so we are trying to make the most of getting the garden looking great before Siew Gins parents arrieve.

Vegetable patch because of all the rain we are having trouble with slugs, but we are managing to harvest carrots, salad vegetables and the beans are at last coming on we really need some sun.

On the 8th August we had a geocaching event at the Lamb organised by Argos, it was well attended and we put some more faces to names. Patrick and I got our first to find at last. We also put out a new cache but unfortunately someone removed it before it could be discovered when our visitors have all gone we will put it out again but this time make it a micro.

Annual Summer dinner for Motor Neurone Disease forgot to get out the camera until everyone was thinking of going home this is a picture of Patrick talking to Linda after the draw.

The dinner was very succesful and we managed to make some money for MND as well as having a good evening.

Beginning of Patrick's Holiday.

Well the first week we have spent the time making hats that have to go off to France. So Daph, Patrick and I got on with the work as quickly as possible and we managed to finish the whole order by Thursday evening and on Friday they were on their way to France.

Soon they will be on their way to USA most of them will end up in New York. No pictures as we were too busy.

Friday the hats were picked up early so Patrick and I went off for a days shopping at Street. Very successful lunch out and we managed to purchase shoes, bag, and new clothes. We were going geocaching later but unfortunately it decided to pour down.
