More Fund Raising

It was the annual swim to steart island Burnham on Sea Swim  the organiser allowed Maggie who was swimming to raise funds for MND together with two other members from the family to put up a stall on the sea front.

Maggie getting ready for the swim

Unfortunately the waves were so high it was impossible for the swimmers to get on to the island so they swan round the life boat and back to shore.  Four people gave up very quickly and made their way back to the beach.

Maggie made it to the island  and back unfortunately she was last but great publicity for the charity and and a large cheer went up as she came up the beach by this time the tide was on the turn.

Picture of Nigel who has MND Maggie on the right and on the left his son-in-law and his sister.

You can see how windy it was as they had to tie everything down.

Fund Raising

Jenny arranged a fund raising Tea Dance with MND nominated as the chosen charity this year, Patrick, Daphne and I went over int he moring to help set up the hall.

Then it was off to the Cottage Inn for a very good lunch.

Back to the hall at Stogursey it was well organised and they raised over £1,000.00. Patrick gave a very good talk about MND during the afternoon and we were surprised how far some people had travelled.

Barbecue

We went up to visit Barry,Sarah, Jake and Daniel and for once the weather was dry and sunny. They had purchased a new barbecue so just the day for trying it out. While we were waiting the boys decided it was time to try the water slide.

Daniel rushed off to get more water
Jake tried it on his front but you cannot go so fast.

Daniel was still busy getting more water I think he thought this was more fun than coming down the slide.

Barry cooked us some really lovely food and Sarah produced lots of lovely salad and all the extras.  Patrick and I just played with the boys.

It was a lovely day and while waiting for a cup of tea we all watched some Doctor Who on the TV it all became too much for Daniel who fell asleep in my arms.

Classic Mini's

Classic Mini's had a fund raising event in April and they asked Partick to come along on the Friday evening so they could present him with the cheque.

This is the second year that they have raised money for the branch this year it was over £1,500.

Some of the people who helped raise the money is memory of Hannah's mum
