Rain Rain Rain

The rain started before Christmas and went on and on, when we returned from a lovely trip with Alan, Siew Gin and the boys we noticed something on the ceiling in the extension but no water coming in.

Within a few days we had this.

The surveyor informed us it was plaster fungus it appears there was a small hole in the roofing felt and the water had been seeping in and it looks like the some of the roof timbers will have to be replaced as well as the roof.

Patrick managed to remove the fungus and all of the ceiling tiles and we have been waiting for the contractors to come and repair the roof before we can take down the ceiling and have it replaced.

Patrick's Easter Holiday

We were so far behind with the garden due to the bad weather that we decided to spend the time getting the back garden into some kind of shape and we are very pleased with the results although so tired we can hardly stay awake when we sit down.  We should have taken pictures before we started showing all the weeds.

Before we started to put up the fence to divide the vegetables from the flowers again the bad weather blew down our old fence.

New fence up

Patrick mulching the flower beds, they had been weeded and treated and I do not know how many wheelbarrows it took to cover all the beds.

The rockery had a make over

Patrick then dug the veg patch

Me in the greenhouse potting up, Patrick managed to cut off my head.

We can remember how small this tree used to be when we moved in must try and find a picture.

At the end of  Barry, Jake and Daniel's visit we had to help out at the Classic Mini Day and they were very good and came along to give us a hand.
